Gunfleet Sands Offshore Wind Farm is a 172 MW wind farm about 7 kilometres off the Clacton-on-Sea coast in the Northern Thames Estuary. The then Energy Minister Charles Hendry opened the completed Wind Farm in June 2010. CCL UK conducted the fibre testing and cable proving prior to and after lay. The Gunfleet Sands project generates enough clean renewable energy for approximately 120,000 households or approximately 20% of the households in Essex.
